Schneider Electric is a company that produces digital energy management and automation solutions for various buildings. We created a new space concept for their showroom that reinforces the look of the company by clearly highlighting the products on display. The Innovation Hub in Leppävaara, Espoo, follows the company’s brand guidelines and strives to create a distinctive identity that can also be seen when driving past in the dark and from the outside.

“The best gauge is the space utilization which is really high. Our goal was to create a “wow effect” for our visitors, and it realizes in the Innovation Hub.”

– Sanna Olkkonen, Channel Marketing Manager, Strategy and Development, Schneider Electric

According to Sanna Olkkonen, Marketing Manager at Schneider Electric, “Working with Seos made starting the project smooth and fast. They used our company’s guidelines for space design and recommended elements creatively and open-mindedly, taking into account the specifics of the space available. The design of the space was challenging as it is a long and narrow space where one of the long walls is covered with windows. However, with the idea from Seos, we made good use of the entire space. Seos devoted themselves fully to our project and stayed on schedule all the time. The space became both top-class and really well-suited to our needs. The best gauge is the space utilization which is really high. Our goal was to create a “wow effect” for our visitors, and it realizes in the Innovation Hub.”

Space design projects typically begin with a mapping of customer needs. There is also a fairly quick shift to different visual ways of generating new kinds of ideas that fulfill the customer’s wishes. The initial ideation and mapping are often done by hand drawing or mood boards. This will create a common understanding of what the future space could look like. At a later stage, the space will be designed using 3D programs, which will allow accurate modeling of the space and realistic visualizations of the space.

“The design of the space was challenging as it is a long and narrow space where one of the long walls is covered with windows. However, with the idea of a mixture, we made good use of the whole space. The mixture was fully immersed in our project and stayed on schedule all the time. The space became both top-class and really well-suited to our needs.”

3D-programs and visualization tools help with the perception of the space and create a good understanding of it.

The large Schneider Electric power switch and an illuminated wall element formed as the main elements of the Innovation Hub. The power switch reinforces the technology company’s slogan “Life is on” and supports the company’s commitment to modern building management services. An illuminated wall element is not just a visual power tool, as the color-changing element is utilized to demonstrate the functionality of a company’s thermal management products.
